My ancestors were from the Odessa area. The Gluckstal German Colonies. I have it traced back to 1768 if I remember the date correctly. I don't have that sheet of paper right in front of me at the moment. Anyhow they were born in Bergdorf, Kuscharka, etc. I am trying to get as much information as I can from when they arrived to 1900. Are there any Haux's, Schmeichels, Kussmaul's that still live there? Tons of questions if someone could respond.

My Mother was born in Odessa in 1921 and my GGM and some of her family were slaughered there in 1941. I would love to visit Odessa, but probably never will. We have many photographs from pre war Odessa and letters in Russian which need translating. Are you Jewish?
